Day 2 on the Camino

Today’s hike was about 13 miles, and included the highest point on the trip. It’s all downhill from here, except when it’s not.

In spite of this the walk was spectacular. Nice and cool, beautiful scenery, and loads of fun. Also I off loaded about half of the useless stuff I had been carrying yesterday.

Parts were through eucalyptus forests, which were amazing and smelled incredible. Also lots of cows again, which were amazing but smelled awful. Here’s today’s urban traffic jam... this the MAIN STREET of the town.

Along the trail there are resting places, usually where we cross a road. They’re more or less 2-3 miles apart. Some have tiny restaurants that range from really nice with great local food, to a good place to use the bathroom and keep walking.... see below.

  1. It’s good to hear your walk will be downhill unless it is not. The cafes or restaurants look very civilized compared to the usual traffic jams

    1. Yes I’ve met a bunch of Americans. Some from Florida and Louisiana. Really trying to talk Samish as much as possible. Gracias to Sister Juan Aloysius and Rosetta Stone.
