Day 3 on the Camino
The weather was beautiful today. Sunny and cool. This segment of the Camino ran from Ligonte to Melide, about 12 miles.
This is the midpoint of my hike. Can’t believe I’m halfway there.
We were once again in eucalyptus groves during part of the hike. And the Camino is getting more crowded the closer we get to Santiago ( 3 days away).
For a while I was among some high school kids — probably 100 of them, on a down hill trail. I felt like I was in the running of the bulls, as they all raced by trying to beat each other.
Tonight’s town is famous for boiled octopus. Here’s dinner... octopus, wine and bread. Delicious!
Here’s the best sign I’ve seen yet on the trip. No need to translate!
Stopped at another ancient church to take pictures. They had an interesting cemetery, so I got some photos there too. A caretaker came up and started yelling at me in Spanish. I don’t think they like you to take photos in graveyards.... anyway, I went into the church, and this nice lady stamped my pilgrim passport. Got a picture of the altar too.
Hey Ken! I can't believe you're 1/2 way done! I love that sign, too! Food looks great too! Carry on, good luck! Anne M.

ReplyDeleteLeslie and I have always wanted to do (part) of this walk! Nice to hear about it from someone we know that's doing it. If we get serious about it, we'll be in touch.
ReplyDeleteI love the pics, not sure about the octopus...how about some pics of the hiker? are you growing a beard?
ReplyDeleteThese are some of the best pictures yet. Love the restroom one of course. It’s interesting to see the churches also. I guess you learned a lesson today.... NO PICTURES in the graveyards!!!!
ReplyDeletePapa- No messing with offrendas. You should know that! Grace & Griff
