Madrid #3

Spain is still a monarchy, so there’s a real king and queen. And a real palace.

The Royal Palace is the largest in Europe, with over 2,800 rooms and 1.5 million square feet. The first palace in the site was built in the late 1500s. That burned and this one was started in the mid 1700s. Kings kept adding until it got to this size about time Spain dominated the western world.

The palace is over the top incredible, and still in use today.

That’s it for Thursday. On to Sarria.
